syklit jotka puhkeavat tarkoittaa minulle sitä, että pysähdytään äänen äärelle, esimerkiksi maiseman äänen äärelle, ja kuunnellaan mitä siitä ajan kuluessa puhkeaa esiin. Käytän esityksessäni kenttä-äänityksiä eri puolilta Suomea. Pysähdys saa huomaamaan sointeja maisemassa, säveliä jotka hehkuvat maiseman läpi. Esityksessäni käytän tätä varten kokoamaani modulaarisampleria, jolla houkuttelen näitä sointeja esiin ja kasvatan ne niin kauniiksi välkehdinnäksi kuin syväksi bassojen jylyksi. Lisäksi käytän äänitteitä kivien, veden ja ihon äänistä. Musiikki kuljettaa ihon alle ja auki maisemaan. Esitys kutsuu yleisön herkkään ja keskittyneeseen tilaan, josta yhdessä kuljetaan jytisevään olemassaolon ytimeen.

syklit jotka puhkeavat (cycles that blossom) means, to me, pausing to listen closely to sound — for example, to the sound of a landscape. In my performance, I use field recordings from different parts of Finland. This pause may allow us to notice resonances in the landscape, tones glowing through it.
In the performance, I use a modular sampler that I have built for this purpose, drawing these resonances out and expanding them into everything from delicate shimmering textures to the deep rumble of bass frequencies. I also use recordings of stones, water, and skin. The music carries us beneath the skin and opens us into the landscape. The performance invites the audience into a sensitive and focused state, from which we travel together toward the rumbling core of existence.

From winds, sun baths, glistening water swash, metallic and ice
glissandi, ewoud summons spectral spirits & landscapes,
transforming guitar, spoken word & vocal expressions into an
animated performance for channeling the weather.
Acoustic bodies metamorph through live sound spectrum
resynthesis across hundreds of oscillators and multitimbral
samplers, the sound animates throughout the room as a
shifting space of orchestration.
A soundsystem entity ‘the flower’ emits a surrounding sound,
matching the dynamics of the acoustic body: wood & strings,
breath & voice.
Fast tongues: drone spectralist ballads, introspective narrations
and free-floating jazz expressions to acousmatic
intermodulation.

ewoud van eetvelde is an electroacoustic composer, installation artist
and guitarist based in Brussels. With a focus on interconnecting sound,
space, the imaginary, and the feeling body, his practice spans developing
soundsystems, performing and composing music, and engaging in
transdisciplinary collaborations including design, theatre, film and VR.
Currently he is under the mentorship of Annette Vande Gorne for
acousmatic writing. His compositions were selected by the Boem
Electroacoustic Festival 2025 in Ghent and for Paysages Composés 2025
in Grenoble.
Over the past years, his artistic work has evolved toward
exploring sound and composition as architecture— as a space that can be
hospitable and transformative through collective listening. Blending
computational synthesis, traditional tonal music and microphone
recordings, his practice merges environments that oscillate between
worldly, emotional and the virtual.
